I’ve decided to start a new series of posts called “Off the Stack.” The stack, in this case, is a collection of my unfinished artwork. In these posts, I’ll feature an incomplete piece of work that I plan on finally finishing, and of course I will then share the final (finished) product.
First up is this painting that I started about a year and a half ago. It’s a small 16″ x 20″ oil piece that I painted from a photo I took while in Washington, D.C. for a Coldplay concert with my boyfriend. There was a man on the sidewalk playing on a full trash can drum kit with so much passion and skill and it was fascinating to watch. For a second, it even made me wish I lived in a big city.
I really wanted to recreate the moment in a painting and now I just have to finish it. I am working on some other pieces too, but I’ll sneak in some time on this painting in between :] Thanks for reading!
